Moving 2 Kuwait

• Hey there,
  
  My husband and I are from Australia but we are of an Indian/Sikh Culture. We look Indian and talk Indian...our English is brilliant with an Aussie Accent...
  
  Point is...reading the several forums about Culture in Kuwait and how women are treated has got me thinking twice about moving to Kuwait...Yes for husband's work purposes and a great opportunity to work in a good company but...will it be worth it if we get ridiculed or treated like shit by Kuwatis? Is it worth...leaving a Multi-cultural country like Australia and moving to a Muslim country with laws that wont allow women to dress as they please...
  
  Sigh...Confused...and not happy with what the my husband's company has been bragging about Kuwait and the great lifestyle there...

  I dont know what you have heard about kuwait, but im most positive that you have got the wrong information from the wrong people.
  
  You can wear whatever you like and do whatever you like, you have your rights.. but with a few limits ..
  
  If you want to go to the beach wearing a bikini ? thats fine ... but know which beach to go to ... there are beaches in hotels and resorts that you pay a small fee to enter ... like 10 USD and you can wear / do whatever you like ..
  
  You dont have to wear a vail / hijab .. you can drive , you can go out alone and be safe ... everything ...

  About how Kuwaiti's treat people ... if you dont do them any harm .. they wont do you any harm like any other person in the world ...

  Hi Yousef...Im a Filipina and have a job offer for a job in Kuwait. My boyfriend and I have been living in together in Manila but not married though we have kids. If my boyfriend will be coming with me to also find a job here, will it be no no in Kuwait? I heard that Kuwait is a close country like Saudi Arabia? Please help..

  YOu can't live together if you're not married perhaps western expats might be able to get away with this as a Filippina, you won't and you can get arrested. Get married before you come and live together that way there won't be any hassles. Good luck.

• Expecting our first...in Kuwait

  My husband will be leaving this month for a job he's accepted. I will be leaving 2 months after him. I should be having our first child in September. I'm naturally scared and full of questions. I've heard a lot of negative things from some very close minded individuals. However as a married person, and have done some traveling I'm open to advise and a new culture. We both understand that we will need adjusting. We want the best for our unborn son and ourselves. Any advise? Medical community ok? Where NOT to live and places someone would suggest living for American couple. Thanks.

  No need to be scared. Kuwaitis are very peaceful and they welcomes outcomers.
  
  the medical community is ok! there is alot of hospitals whether its private or government owned. i personally prefers the private hospitals for the quality of service.
  the places where westerners mostly live is at Salwa, West Mishref, Abu Al Hassani or Fintas Zarai... its all depends on the location of your work. However, Kuwait is small and beautiful, there is a lot of activities to do.. take it easy and i wish you all the best in our beloved Kuwait
