get a job being a from US?

• I am coming to the Netherlands from the United States. I have my passport and I read online that if you are from certain countries you do not need a visa to stay longer than 3 months, the US was one of those. So I'm okay to stay there but can I get a job? I am not coming as a student I am coming just to come. I want to stay for maybe a year.. anyone know? you can email me at [email removed]
