Orphan sponsership in Kenya

We are looking for individual, company, or organization that can partner with us to help vulnerable children and orphans in sub-sahara africa.We introduce ourselves as Cadifkenya, which is a commununity based ,young professionals youth lead Non-govermental organization working along the lake Victoria
region in Kenya.

We are tackling poverty through participatory community involvement.After our post election violence, We have been involved in
post election livelihood reconstruction program .One of our priority
is to provide a second chance to displace girls child, orphans and
vulnerable child to continue with education in the slum areas of
Kisumu.

We have some areas of Great interest for 2009-2010 that we would request to
share with any individual,organiaztion or company that can help. In the previous years,
we have been running a center to for community child sponsorship awareness,
Entrepreneurship and basic ICT Literacy in Nyalenda Slums,in the
process, we have been touched by the need to provide a second chance
for orphan drop out,internally displaced children and those that
cannot afford secondary education and most of them are ladies.They
turn to house girls, hence losing their dream.

We have had a request for over 50 such people, to help them have a
second chance in life, most of them only did their KCPE but then drop
out.

In 2009, we have a plan to establish a center that give hope and
second chance to such vulnerable group.We are lobbying for support and
partnership to get books, furniture and small token to start up.We
have our local volunteers that will teach.We are going to approach
local University and Colleges to be sending us Volunteer interns.

The school will be in Obunga Slums and will hope to enroll over 100
girl child yearly that drop in either secondary schools or dropped after KCPE
and are currently forced house wives, house girls, orphans or are so vulnerable.

The project is participatory designed in an effort to establish "proof
of concept" for broad- based, an holistic child development and offers
a bold, innovative model for helping an African Child and surrounding
communities lift themselves out of extreme poverty. We help most
vulnerable children, orphan and families who are struggling become
productive, independent citizens who will
enrich their communities and their future families.

Vision

Provide a millennium child development model with a holistic approach
to develop the orphans and vulnerable children to enjoy full right to
food, health care, education and shelter. A child that become focused
,self reliant and be a model that raise Children full of hope
,atmosphere of happiness, love understanding and better future as well
as taking leadership of the society.

We request to work with any interested group or persons as a joint initiative
where we will be doing daily management of the program, local fund
raising, local
volunteer placement. Photographers & Friends United Against AIDS is

1. Help fund raise for this girls child education through your
fundrasing and school building programe, we would be happy to share with
you the same vision.

2.Help connect the center to other best model project, as twinning
programe or lobby for International Volunteer placement to the center.

3.The Center will run numerous life skill program like making
fire less cooker, Solar Cooker, Nutritional flours and other Art/Curio
product.We will request that through your Global Network, you help
market such product.Currently we have many Fireless cookers and
Art/Curio product.The returns from the sales will be channeled back to
the center as Scholarship to the girls and the above product will be
made by the girls as social entrepreneurship program.

4. Help mobilize equipment to used for child welfare like medical
equipments, books and furnitures if available.

The project will be a new parading of Education that pays for
itself,Students study at the school in the morning and part of
afternoon to obtain a basic secondary education and part of the
afternoon attend the practical and classroom based lessons in
sustainable social entrepreneurship.With practical experience of running
profitable businesses at school, students develop the technical and
entrepreneurial skills needed to set up their own successful rural
enterprises at the end of fouth year( O level).
