work visa or visit visa

• Sir,
  I recently received my qatar visa. and i booked the ticket also.But I was not able to go and I returned back from airport. In the visa, it is printed as below
  "purpose of visa: visit
  type of visa: work visa"
  I took only one way ticket. At the airport they asked why i didn't book round trip ticket?So sir ,can you clear My doubt as early as possible.
