are there any famous Canadian companies?

• It is kind of disappointing. You only think of Nortel, Bombardier, Husky, maybe Celestica, but are there any REAL powerhouses that are famous worldwide?

• The banks are big...and they even own banks in US and abroad.

  The Banks are all aggressive global companies, and own much collateral across the world markets.
  
  Research in Motion (RIM) is a huge entity on the world market, and about to get even bigger now that the law suit has settled...heck, even the U.S. Government is a well-addicted customer of the BlackBerry.
  
  Energy is big money in Canada too, and centered right now in Alberta...Fort McMurray and the Oil Sands project has some serious companies backing that...and they are all large global players.
