Americans and Jobs in Germany....Viel Glück!

  • Ja, ich muss sagen; toi, toi, toi! Good luck in you endevours finding any work in Germany. You can have a PhD; MA; BA, or other college/univeristy level education with/without experiance...it dose not matter! You diploma is toilet paper here! (Germany) So, you were a Heart Doctor in the USA...(etc, etc). Why come here? (Germany) As an Network and Communications Managment Expert (I.T.) with many certificates and over 18 years expericance...means NOTHING in Germany. I am out of work and like most "ausländers" will find a job as street sweeper, taxi driver, etc, etc.
We (Americans) are the bottom feeders here. 1st Jobs goe to GERMANS, 2nd Jobs MAY go to other EU Born Citizens, 3rd Jobs go to Ohter Nationality other then USA, then lastly US. And then with much luck...it may or may not be the job(s) you want or can even do. Want an example? Ok...A Lawyer with 15 years expericance in International Buisness Trade Laws...He comes here to 'work'. Since he is not able to go to Univerisity here and know German law...he works now (after 6 years of searching) as a LKW Fahrer (Truck driver) for a short haul transport firm. I am married to a German---) I know how hard it is to find work even if you are German born, raised, educated, etc.
Now, add the hate of "ausländers" in the factor. Like I said....GOOD LUCK! I hate to be the fun killer...just passing on the Facts! That's life my freinds! Suck it up!
