visadate expiring but flight cancelled!!

• Hello, I'm from Costa Rica and almost three months in the EU now, travelling. My flight back was planned on the 11th of Februar, but now the company (Air Madrid) lost his flight-permit....
  I tried to figure out if Air Comet had taken over the tickets, but I did till now not succeed to get the answer.
  I can be in Madrid at the eleventh (I am in Holland at this moment)and see if I can sort things out there, but what if I cannot fly back?? It's not my fault of course, I have my returnticket on 11/02/7, but will I be on an illegal state if I have to wait till I can go back to Costa Rica?
