• Crime is really not that bad, I live in Johannesburg and frequently go out at night. All you need to do is a) Stop listening to these people who are constantly hiding in there homes and never experience the reality of S.A but are quick to view their paranoid beliefs and b)just keep smart, sure their is crime and you will get mugged if you are walking around Hillbrow for instance with a laptop o flashing your iphone, but then again nobody walks around hillbrow since ages past there is nothing to do there. Now if you stay in the suburbs and frequent the city sandton it is a totally different story and quite safe there.
