Living in the US
Hi there, I'm Belgian and have lived in the US since 5 years, together with my French boyfriend. Yes, you can eat other things than fast food - depending on where you are in the US, you can find excellent european and asian cuisine. Also, the more American Steakhouses are great if you're into eating fresh meat. It's a big misunderstanding about the US fast food: you only eat it if YOU want to, otherwise you have plenty of other options. About W Bush - same thing: depends on where you are in the US and who you're talking to... One more thing: Americans are a lot more polite than French / Belgian people, they say hi, thanks, goodbye, have a nice day, you're welcome A LOT MORE often
Hope this helps, bonne chance!An 17 aug 2007, 09:56 - Rapporteer misbruik -
French
Trust me anybody is welcome here in America. You'll feel really free, and you'll have a whole new start! Yes you'll find different kinds of food, and yes I think you just have to be careful who your talking to about Bush, because don't worry there's alot of people here in the U.S. that don't like him. Whoever doesn't welcome you, there just HATERS! And most people would find you intresting because your French. I hope you come. Here In Texas it's a blast! Don't worry and good luck!

i would be real careful with what i say in america. people wont shoot u for saying something but they will say things like "if you dont like it, get out". which makes sense, because if you dont like the politics, why are you in the country.

please do
insult Bush in public. it's a free country here, and most of us think he's an idiot anyway. especially in NY.
my advice is to stay in the bigger cities though. in the smaller, middle american towns, they acn be a little unfriendly to ousiders (french).Lee Lee 25 mei 2008, 03:09 - Rapporteer misbruik -

Right is spelling live correctly.
Wrong is giving shitty advise to a foreigner.Eman 29 jun 2008, 04:38 - Rapporteer misbruik -

Don't worry about finding diversity in the food in the US. There are plenty of restaurants of various types of food, we don't eat fast food constantly. A word of warning though, the noise level in pretty much every US restaurant is rather high. It is completely acceptable to say that Dubya is an idiot, especially in northern states, educated circles, or if someone asks.
Also If your still deciding on where in the US to go, go to Pensacola, Florida. We have the whitest beaches and the best museums. (Yes I am advertising for my hometown)Hannah 10 jul 2008, 10:53 - Rapporteer misbruik -
Para Vinny Fletcher
Vinny (que por cierto, vaya nombre más hortera), menudo mafiosillo de tres al cuarto que estás hecho. ¿Qué dices? que "the french economy sucks"? Y tienes la desvergüenza de decir esto siendo americano? Efectivamente, además de mafioso, eres más ignorante que la Esteban.

Don't worry about the food here, there are many different places to eat, not just fast food. Some people are mean and some are nice, you just won't know unless you talk to them. And go ahead and speak your mind if you dot like the president, he sucks. Just be careful who you're talking with about certain subjects. And ihnore all those stupid comments by those people who say your ignorent, if they are so smart why don't they use proper grammer and spell right? Its just that some people are frightened of foreign people. Just ignore them and set your mind to making a living. (and a lot of people are very kind) =]
